Panasonic ToughBook CF-18 - Rugged Notebook Review
Written by Laptop News
Tuesday, 07 February 2006
Big and tough - two words that seem to go hand in hand. Whether you’re talking about that bloke in the tuxedo standing outside your local nightclub or an armoured personnel carrier, big and tough just seems right. But for every rule there’s the exception and the ToughBook CF-18 is that exception - although small and tough just doesn’t seem to roll off the tongue quite so well.

SmarThumb 256MB USB Drive Review
Written by Laptop News
Tuesday, 07 February 2006
There are many companies out there making USB drives, while I was at the CES show, I came across the booth for SmarThumb. Curious as to what it was exactly, I started asking questions and ended up spending about 30 minutes talking with the reps from the company. The parent company is called Intranet Research, based in Malaysia, and they believe they have come up with a 'better', more useful, USB drive. After chatting for a while with them and exchanging info they gave me one of their SmarThumb USB drives to take home and review. The package states: “The World's 1st Productivity Suite on a Portable Flash Drive”. So let's check it out and compare to some others on the market.

Athena Power SNT-2312B2 External HDD Enclosure Review
Written by Laptop News
Tuesday, 07 February 2006
In today's world, people need to carry their data with them wherever they go. Memory sticks and USB drives are fine for small files, but transporting large amounts of data from work to home is impractical. An external portable hard drive can be just the thing to lug alot of data between home and the office, and can also be used as expanded storage for laptop users. Using an external hard drive enclosure makes it possible to transform a normal 3.5" internal hard drive into a portable data expansion. These can be used on any computer with USB. Athena Power's SNT-2312B2 external 3.5" enclosure hopes to wrap its aluminum arms around your hard drive's bits and bytes for your data expansion needs.

For the longest time I have relied on a normal sized corded mouse with my laptop. I only recently switched to wireless mice for mobile use but the mice were still full size desktop units. This is because I haven't found a single laptop sized mouse that felt good in my hand. That all changed when I discovered the Microsoft Wireless Notebook Optical Mouse. If you're a laptop user unable to warm up to a touchpad or pointing stick then you'll want to check this mouse out - it's an almost perfect for Laptop users.
