The Keyliner has two sides to it. The logo side is the soft side of the cloth and is placed face up when you close the lid of the laptop. The cloth is made of a microfiber material and can be used to remove those unsightly fingerprints and dust marks left from handling your laptop. The Macally Keyliner not only protects your screen from your keyboard but it also allows you an easy way to clean your laptop screen. The annoying dust and fingerprints can be easily wiped off your screen without using any liquid cleaners.

During transport, you place the Keyliner on the keyboard with the company logo facing up. This will act as a divider between your keyboard and laptop screen. Again, this is the softer side of the fabric that is better suited to be rubbing against your laptop screen. It also works well as a dust magnet, removing dusty and debris from your laptop's surfaces. Unfortunately, no cleaning instructions were left with it, so I would assume that you just handwash it in lukewarm water.

The Macally Keyliner is a great accessory to add to any laptop. This is not only an Apple laptop product but can also be used on PC laptops as well. For Apple laptop owners, I would highly recommend this product. I have seen first hand the scratches that the keys can do on a laptop screen. Macally has redesigned this product to work on the newer Macbook and Macbook pro laptops as well, mainly in sizing it to fit the larger screens.

Though I have not seen very many instances of PC laptops getting the screen rub, I do notice the dust build up on the screen more so than on an Apple laptop. Get one anyway so that you can keep that screen performing at its best with just a few wipes.
