Installation

We started with the BT009Si Bluetooth Adapter. Since WindowsXP has built in Bluetooth support, all we needed to do was plug in the adapter. I'm not a huge fan of aftermarket software if the OS can already handle the tasks as sometimes it just makes a big mess of things. It configured itself fine, and we were ready to go. I'm a huge fan of glowy blue LED's so extra points for style. It also matched nicely with our Shuttle SD31P system which we'll be reviewing later.

Next, we parked the mouse next to the BT009Si adapter, hit the connect button on the belly, and ran the WindowsXP Bluetooth application in the Control Panel. After the mouse's presence was detected, we used the wizard to configure the mouse, and it was running within 30 seconds. Looks like Bluetake did all their homework to make sure that both devices were 100% Bluetooth Compliant.

Although we did not use the included software and utilities Bluetake warns that without installing it on the Bluetooth Adapter, WindowsXP may not be able to install other devices properly like Bluetooth headsets as the utilities allow the operating system to work properly with such devices. So far so good.
