Final Thoughts With my laptop meeting the minimum system requirements, the TV tuner card was a fun feature to have. However, I did not enjoy using as much as I would have expected. The basic software was too basic and needed third party software to enhance the features of the card including video capture. The PVR feature is not very complete take advantage of electronic TV guide and would make recording TV shows easier. The radio function was pretty much useless to me as it didn't really work out. To improve the quality of this product, a user should have a good video card in the laptop. I believe that a video card having a minimum of 64MB of shared RAM would allow the video and the sound to be synchronized while watching TV or reviewing the recorded TV shows. However, it seems more likely that the card or software has problems buffering ahead enough of the recording to keep from having syncing problems. As a whole this TV tuner card wouldn't be something I'd go out and buy. However, because last time we checked, Geeks had it for around $50 bucks, it might help you pass the time when you're out and about. Related Products
