Page 3 of 4 Setting It Up To test this enclosure I popped in a Fujitsu MHT2020AT 20GB 2.5” drive. Installing the drive into the enclosure was easy; I was somewhat surprised to see that drive itself is not screwed into the case. Instead the only thing holding the drive in place is the pin connector and the nice tight fitting case itself. This helps reduce size and weight, and because the drive does fit so perfectly is really not needed in this enclosure. The backup software installed easily and is easy to use; perfect for a computer novice. Performance The data transfer went very smoothly. As I was dealing with a 4200rpm drive, running thru USB 2.0, the performance was not stellar but it was acceptable. This is for data backup and not gaming afterall. The one touch backup worked flawlessly once this feature is set up in the software. It cannot backup a file that is in use; this same for most backup software. Just be sure to close down all your applications if you want everything backed up, or make it the last thing you do before you shut down yoru PC. Then you'll get into the routine. The only issue I have with this enclosure is the software; it just does not fit with the rest of the product. The software “BackupKingX” does not even load if the drive is not connected to the computer. This is what happens when I try to run the software with no drive attached. Actually, it is kind of a blessing in disguise because just in case you DO have your drive attached, at least you'll be prompted to double check those connections before making a backup.
