Final Thoughts

The enclosure looks and performs great! The contents (cleaning cloth, screwdriver) are well packaged and also have that head turning ‘where did you get that, it looks great’ factor. The software just appears unfinished; it does the job but has many cosmetic issues that really annoyed me. Things like the text wrap that does not fit into the allocated spot, and the coloring to name a couple that got on my nerves right away.

Although they claim this enclosure to be Aluminum, the only aluminum parts are the outer shell, the chassis that shell screws into is plastic. This is common for most of these enclosures I have seen. If you are following along here, the tiny screws you use to put the nice shiny aluminum shell on with are screwing into a plastic body. In other enclosures I have seen them strip this plastic quite easily. The Paragon is not showing any sign of stripping yet, and I have taken these screws in and many times over the course of my testing.

Let’s sum this one up an awesome looking and decent performing data backup and data transfer solution for someone that has a 2.5” drive they would like to utilize. The software could use an update, but despite its flaws it does gets the job done. Now where can I buy one? I tried to find one for sale on the Internet and did not find anyone selling it yet! Hopefully VIZO fixes that before the Holidays.

Pros
  • Sexy cosmetics with chrome and shiny black
  • Decent performance
  • Package is well designed, and gives lots of information.
  • Nice accessories included (Case...even a screwdriver!)
  • No External Power Cord Needed (USB Bus Powered)
Cons
  • Software seems unfinished, but functional.
  • Plastic internal chassis may be a problem if drive replacement is regular and you strip out the threads.
