At $999.99, Systemax Pursuit Offers the Latest in Mobile Technology Enabling Higher Performance at an Ultra-Competitive Price Point

MIAMI, FL – November 17th, 2006 – Systemax Inc., the great American PC maker, today announced its first notebook computer with the advanced Intel® Core™2 Duo processor, offering customers the latest in ultra-powerful mobile computing. The 15.4” Pursuit starts at an attractively affordable $999.99 and enables a highly versatile mobile computing experience with enhanced battery life.

The Intel Core 2 Duo processor is Intel’s second-generation mobile dual-core processor designed to deliver breakthrough performance and great power savings. Systemax Pursuit users can enjoy more than 20 percent performance increase when doing processor-intensive tasks like multitasking compared to previous generation Intel-powered laptops.

The new Intel technology leverages two mobile-optimized execution cores in a single processor designed to increase performance and power savings. It improves performance and efficiency as each core can compete up to four full instructions simultaneously using an efficient 14-stage pipeline. With up to 4 MB L2 shared cache, the Intel Core 2 Duo processor offers even more efficient data sharing, and effectively doubles the execution speed for instructions used widely in multimedia and graphics applications.

“Intel Core 2 Duo technology lets Systemax Pursuit users enjoy a feature-rich, dynamic experience combined with remarkable power savings,” said Richard Wallet, Executive Vice President of Systemax. “With Intel’s cutting-edge technology, Systemax continues to provide best-of-breed products with the industry’s best value and service.

“For the Systemax Pursuit notebook, the new processor has doubled the performance, giving consumers and businesses an immersive mobile experience while keeping power consumption and battery life unchanged,” said David (Dadi) Perlmutter, senior vice president of Intel’s Mobility Group. “The dual-core processing power of the Core 2 Duo processor helps people handle the toughest of multi-tasking scenarios no matter where they are.”
