Hiyatek Laptop Cooler with Card Reader and USB Hub Review Print E-mail

This is a pretty cool little laptop cooler (pun intended). Unlike other coolers that just...cool...your laptop, this one ads two things that laptops seem to lack like a memory card reader and a USB hub.

"Laptop coolers are now widely available, as many component manufacturers have realized that there is a market to provide the additional cooling that many really need. Not only do these coolers help keep the components at lower operating temperatures, which can extend their functional lives and improve their performance, but they also allow the operator to use the laptop more comfortably and safely.

Hiyatek is a Taiwanese manufacturer of computer peripherals and cooling components that I was unfamiliar with before being approached to review their laptop cooler model HY-CF-6157-01, shown in the promotional image above. This is more than a simple pad designed to cool the bottom of your laptop, as they have not only integrated three 60mm fans into the aluminum device, but have also provided a three port USB 2.0 hub, and a four slot flash memory card reader. The general style is appealing, but the inclusion of useful additional features is even more attractive in a device such as this.

Before jumping into the heart of the review, here is some published data on the Hiyatek HY-CF-6157-01 Laptop Cooler with Card Reader and USB Hub."
