It has been almost 10 months since our review of the original Oakley THUMP MP3 playing eyewear. I personally loved the original THUMP for being innovative as well as its sporty design. Today we move on from the beloved THUMP to their new brother; THUMP 2. The THUMP 2 are the latest from Oakley in their THUMP eyewear line and look to improve upon the original THUMP in many ways. The THUMP 2 come in 5 different versions that range in 256MB - 1GB of flash memory built-in. The model we have here to review is the top of the line Polished Black/Black Iridium 1GB eyewear.

Be like Lance Armstrong with Oakley's Latest THUMP!

Oakley's second time around with the THUMP line has produced a much improved version of their original THUMP eyewear. The THUMP 2 has more storage capacity, better file navigation, and more intelligent earbud design. Whether or not the THUMP 2 look better than the original THUMP is in the eye of the beholder. I prefer the sporty look of the original THUMP over the bold THUMP 2 but I know others that disagree with me and like the THUMP 2 better. Regardless of looks, the THUMP 2 improves upon the THUMP in several ways. The 1GB model of THUMP 2 can currently be found online for around $450 and both the 512MB model of THUMP and THUMP 2 can be found for around $350. At these prices it's clear that these glasses are designed to be a birthday present for little timmy but rather as a 'big-boy toy' for person that just loves have cutting edge products.
