We reported earlier that Toshiba denied that their SONY manufacturered laptop batteries were faulty. Looks like consumer pressure made them bow afterall. They will be replacing laptop batteries on the following units only:
  • Satellite T10, T11, T12, T20, A50
  • Tecra M3, M4, M5, M7, S3
  • Portege S100, M300, M400, M500
  • Dynabook SS LX, L10, L11, M10, M11, M35, MX, MXW; Dynabook R10; Dynabook TX/2, TX/3, TX/4
  • Qosmio G30, F30
IF you have a Toshiba from the list above, call up your local Toshiba Service Depot to defuse your ticking laptop bomb.  Toshiba estimates that they will have to replace over 830,000 of them.  Compared to DELL, they got off light.  I'm surprised it took so long to jump in on the recall even after SONY recalled their own.
