Vantec LapCool 4 Notebook Cooler Review Print E-mail

This laptop cooler is a bit different than the others. Apparently, it whisks cool air to the Laptop rather than trying to whisk hot air away. Sounds right. Check it out for yourself!

"If modding is defined as adding anything to a computer in any non-standard way, is adding a laptop cooler modding a laptop? When we add fans to any regular case we consider that a mod. So with a laptop cooler you can add not only fans, card readers, cable management, but USB hubs, too. While it maybe a soft mod, in my mind that is a mod nonetheless, albeit in the most loose of terms.

What if we look at modding the laptop cooler itself? Could we add lights, stronger or larger fans? What about other colors to paint them? I don't see why not. So here is a whole new avenue for us to mod, laptop coolers.

The laptop cooler I am checking out in this review comes from Vantec, and it is called the LapCool 4 Notebook Cooler. It is a new product from Vantec that has yet to hit the market for retail sale, and as you can guess by the name this is #4 in a line of coolers. Each increase in number brings new features and improvements. It is my theory that the designer for this latest model is also a modder."
